Trend for the “retro” look in vehicle stores drives demand for these models.
Made in galvanized steel, aluminum or stainless steel, with or without paint, the so-called “retro doors” are part of a trend that can be noticed in several street stores and shopping centers that seek a vintage look, recreating a period setting, old and good quality, as a way to attract customers and become a differentiated reference point.
According to the direction of the manufacturer Megadoors - which maintains a wide portfolio with several lines of doors for residential, commercial and industrial use. The tubular roll-up door model - assembled entirely handmade - is the option that has been chosen by several car dealerships and shopping mall stores to create an additional attraction in attracting new customers.
The manufacturer explains that both the tubular door (thin, with a maximum width of 10m and maximum height of 8m) and the oblong door (widely used in old butchers, with a maximum width of 15m and maximum height of 10m) are produced in two versions: plume joint (assembled in the format similar to a mat) and brick (assembled in the format that resembles a brick wall).
Both models of roll-up doors offer robust structure and are designed to offer safety, long service life and visual beauty, according to Megadoors.
This model of door can be found in several sectors of commerce, from crowded shopping malls to even small stores spread through the smallest neighborhoods in the city.

One of the main manufacturers of the product is Megadoors, which recently supplied and installed in the resale of Next Motors vehicles, located in Chácara Santo Antônio, south of São Paulo, five large roll-up doors - all with AC / DC motorization systems.
The manufacturer's management informs that the installed doors have an automation with built-in UPS system, with two batteries with autonomy of up to 20 opening cycles in case of power failure.
According to Megadoors, the five roll-up steel doors were produced in different dimensions: the largest one is 16.49m wide by 3.60m high, followed by one 15.00m wide by 3.34m high.
The other three doors are 13.71m wide and 4.05m high; 8.16m wide by 4.05m high; and the smallest, 2.37m wide by 3.45m high.
Strategically located on a busy corner, the façade of the resale of domestic, imported and armored vehicles gained identity after the installation of doors that, even when closed, allow a good view of the interior of the building full of vehicles.
According to the direction of Megadoors, the model chosen by Next Motors is the one that has a grill mat with galvanized plume and electrostatic epoxy paint in dark gray color.
The doors are operated by remote control and “man-dead” emergency entry system (for access to the chain that opens and closes the automatic door).
This system usually has three-position devices (or “dead man”), which can be used for quick troubleshooting, programming and testing rounds, in cases where no other protection is available or feasible.
In this type of mechanism, the operator can tighten more tightly, in an emergency, or release the device so that the door motor stops, thus avoiding a possible accident.
The manufacturer explains that the tubular door used in vehicle resale is produced in two versions that are highly sought after by customers. The plumo joint version is assembled in a format similar to that of a mat. The brick version resembles the shape of a brick wall. These models of roll-up doors offer robust structure and are designed to offer safety, long service life and visual beauty, according to Megadoors.
The plumb joint door model, popularly known as half cane, is also a great choice for commercial spaces. In general, it is divided into two main types: oblong and tubular, find out its characteristics below.
The oblong type resembles a mixture of the closed door, discussed in the previous topic, with the brick model (close to our list). Its main peculiarity is due to the “gaps” present throughout its surface, making it possible, thus, to have a slight view of the interior or exterior of the environment.
In addition, like the transvision model, the plumb joint offers better air circulation, preserving the interior of the space.
In turn, the tubular plumb joint consists of a roll-up door model that is formed by steel, aluminum or stainless steel alloys, depending on the customer's choice, which allows full external or internal viewing.
An aesthetic characteristic present in both types is that the “gaps” (or “little holes”) are necessarily below each other, forming a harmonious and detailed sequence of the door.
Finally, the last model on our list is the brick door. Unlike the plumb joint, where the details were positioned in a sequential and straight way, the brick type receives the “gaps” in a pyramidal way, reminding the laying of bricks in the construction of a house, for example.
Like the previous one, the brick is divided into two main types, which in turn, have characteristics similar to the plumb joint, they are: tubular and oblong. In addition to use in commercial spaces, the brick type has gained space in residential, garages and industrial environments.
